Or perhaps even one that is early rider history that ends in the great battle with The Forsworn. I would also think a game that is set potentially decades later when the riders have been re-established completely would be good cos then you could create your own rider and dragon how you want.

It has always seemed like a spectacle to ride a dragon in things like WoW and other MMO's where they're all special mounts with terrible physics and never feel natural.It's the sort of thing I never expect to see made because when do Developers ever get to make ambitious projects as I am sure this sort of game would be, but I would love to hear what sort of idea's and concept you guys might have that could potentially make a video game Inheritance Cycle a masterpiece in this medium.Įdit: I literally made this post and then jumped on ARK: Survival Evolved and realised I literally have wyverns in that game to fly around so sure I guess that is close, but for any of you ARK players out there I think we can all agree it just isn't quite the same. It's also a type of game that I don't think has ever really existed in the sense that there is no game, that I have come across, where riding a dragon works the same as riding a horse or driving a car does in any other game. It just seems to fit so naturally into a game that would have such an enormous world to explore with so much expanded lore and freedom. I don't know why this has become such a weird fixation of mine lately but I think its a beautiful story set in an incredible world that cannot be done proper justice in film (as we've seen already).

In my head it would sort of play out as the kind of game where you go through a short introductory period of subtle tutorial missions based around Eragon's initial few weeks in Carvahal before Saphira hatches, followed by the events of each book broken up into a chapter for each one in which you travel the world by horse, and of course eventually by dragon. So I have recently finished playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and it got me thinking: How good could an Eragon game in the same style be?I got kinda obsessed with the idea that a sort of open-world, chapter based, game (potentially four chapters for each book) based around the story of the Inheritance Cycle would be an incredible game to play.
